Fiber Construction Technician
Wabash is seeking a Fiber Construction Technician to join our team. This full-time position involves constructing our fiber optic network supporting broadband internet, phone, and television services.
Responsibilities include:
– Operate specialized construction equipment.
– Perform excavation using hand tools to expose cable when necessary.
– Install buried and aerial fiber optic runs.
– Read and interpret utility maps and construction drawings.
– Operate company vehicles and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
– Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
– Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
– Available to work Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, overtime and emergency work as needed.
Qualifications:
– Valid driver’s license and good driving record. CDL is a plus.
– Experience working with hand tools preferred.
– Knowledge of basic construction.
– No prior experience is necessary. Training will be provided.
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to walk, stand, sit, crawl, stoop, crouch, climb, and balance.
– Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
– Ability to work in all weather conditions.
